About the Authors

Richard P. McBrien is the Crowley-O'Brien Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame. He is the author of numerous books on Catholic theology, including Catholicism and The HarperCollins Encyclopedia of Catholicism.

Charles E. Curran is the Maurice J. and Mary Margaret Curran Professor of Human Values at Southern Methodist University. He is the author of numerous books on Catholic moral theology, including Loyal Dissent: Memoirs of a Catholic Theologian and Catholic Moral Theology in the United States: A History and Evaluation.

Lisa Sowle Cahill is the J. Donald Monan Professor of Theology at Boston College. She is the author of numerous books on Catholic social thought, including Theological Bioethics: Participation in God's Creative and Redemptive Activity and Sex, Gender, and Christian Ethics.
